In 2018, Clara and Esther were in a campaign for Fendi together. The video clip they starred in shows the sisters wearing matching outfits and cowboy boots while carrying Fendi bags. In his recent interview with The Times, Ewan talked about getting to visit his daughters on a set, which was a role reversal since, in the past, they had been the ones stopping by to see him. “They are beautiful, aren’t they?” he said. “I was able to visit them on a shoot that they both did together in New York … I actually went out and got them some sandwiches.” While both Clara and Esther have modeled, Clara is the one who took it on as a career. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story is about a father and daughter on a road trip to take her to a rehab facility, and Ewan is the executive producer. In addition to sharing photos of herself modeling on Instagram, Esther also posts about plenty of her other work. The 19-year-old is a tattoo artist, musician, photographer, and clothing designer (her line is called EnL Clothing). As her Instagram notes, she’s set to graduate from NYU in 2024. As for her music, she is in a band with her friend Leo Major called French Thyme. They released their first EP in Sept. 2020, ET Canada reports. Esther sings in both English and French—her mother, Mavrakis, is French and the McGregor kids speak the language fluently. Ewan and Mavrakis broke up in 2017 after 22 years of marriage amid the release of a photo of him kissing his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Their divorce was finalized in 2020. When the photo of Ewan and Winstead was published, both Clara and Esther shared social media posts either directly or seemingly related to the news. As reported by E! News in 2018, Clara called Winstead “a piece of trash” in an Instagram comment. “Most beautiful and talented woman on earth???” Clara wrote under a photo of the actor on a fan account. “Oh man y’all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash 🙂 x.” Another Instagram user commented, “Say it to her face not in social media. It took TWO to undo this marriage. If a man OR woman is happy w/ their marriage no outside interference can destroy that!” Clara responded, “Yup it took two!! Mary & my father :).” Esther, who was 15 at the time, shared a video of her singing a song on Instagram with lyrics that seemed related to the situation. Both Clara and Esther recently shared birthday posts for their dad on Instagram, and have shared other family pics in recent years, like this one of the three of them together in Feb. 2020. Ewan and Winstead are still together, and Clara spoke positively of her in a recent profile of Ewan in The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m hugely fond of Mary,” she said. “She’s family.
